THOMAS SPENCER MONSON was born August 21, 1927. Now in his 80’s, Monson is the 16th Mormon president. Many things can be learned about his (and the Mormon’s general) motives by a look at his previous and current involvements.
The Mormon History Challenge
“MORMONISM IS a rather unusual denomination, which pursues certainty in matters…based on the 19th century revelations of Joseph Smith which nowadays are propagated by 80,000 missionaries…They are living productive lives and foster a strong people culture, family culture, principles, education, achievements, and personal inspiration. In learning their true history, a slowly increasing number of Mormons are shocked by Mormonism’s duplicity and checkered past. Most likely, there are more than 100,000 well informed Mormons nowadays and the majority have stayed Mormon albeit at a cost…” (taken from a xmormon internet site)
Consider This!
IT IS IMPERATIVE to look at the whole history and character of a person before blindly accepting them as religious, or a ‘Christian’. LDS members/missionaries present a wholesome image, but have a fraudulent history AND government. With this in mind, this search will manifest the nature of Mormon president Monson, which also reveals much about the LDS faith:
Hierarchy Line:
GORDON B. HINCKLEY and Monson were Mormon president Ezra Taft Benson’s first and second counselors, they were also counselors to Benson’s successor, Howard W. Hunter. When Hinckley succeeded Hunter in 1995, Monson became first counselor to Hinckley—until Hinckley passed on (to the supposed Mormon paradise [power and sex]). He was elected the 16th Mormon president seven days after Hinckley’s death in 2008.
Governmental Involvement:
BECAUSE OF THE ANTI-HATE LAWS, and the ‘political correctness’ of the current government, it is hard to believe that war-mongers George W. Bush, and the evasive blood-letter named Obama, would be on peaceful terms with the Mormons, who do believe in governing themselves (For proof on this, read ACMTC’s booklets on the September 11th, 1857 massacre [approximately 135 people were killed by Mormons in an uprising etc.]). However, Monson, formerly being in the US Navy (discharged right before the Korean ‘war’), sets a standard that the foundational LDS leadership would be appalled at (complete befriendment of government=mingling with the enemy)! But, would this doctrine that they would term ‘heresy’—their church and the US government befriending each other, being untypical in Mormon doctrine, in practicality, as well as history? The answer is ‘no’—considering the ongoing record of CHANGES that have been made over the years, this is more than typical behavior coming from Mormons: it is expected!
Flunkie Missionary now Advocating Missions!
MONSON DID NOT EVEN COMPLETE HIS OWN FULL-TIME YOUTH MISSION, yet he is very big on advocating missions himself. Why? Where would the church growth be without ‘[what they call] missions’? Unlike real Christianity, they are not winning souls to Christ, but to their denomination—which believes that one MUST LEAVE the Christian church in order to be saved. “Then why do they claim they’re Christian?” you may ask. One easy answer: POWER. They want to be accepted by all men, but for themselves will only accept their own (LDS)!
String-Pulling
MONSON WAS THE YOUNGEST in the quorum (12 Mormon ‘apostles’) in 53 years—even 17 years younger than Hinckley, the next youngest member. This is further proof that there are more than politics involved.
It is obvious what kind of man Monson is—he is intent to succeed/to be the top, but obviously there had to be some string-pulling along the way! Power is a big factor in the Mormon religion. Actually, Joseph Smith being a Mason, manifested the Masonic PYRAMID OF POWER STRUCTURE in the new religion he created.
M*O*N*E*Y MATTER$!
MONSON’S FIRST JOB was with the Deseret News (Mormon newspaper), when it was formed (1952) in “advertising operations,” where he became an ADVERTISING EXECUTIVE. Later, he transferred to the Deseret News Press, beginning as a SALES MANAGER (yes, that’s right, this dealt with MONEY and revenues…surprising?).
Right after Monson became the Mormon president, he issued a decree that ALL SHOULD “COME BACK” to the Mormon church. He didn’t/doesn’t care if they are/were skeptics, or even apostates (what happened to BLOOD ATONEMENT MONSON?). He just wants their money, *uhh,* I mean THEM, back in the ‘church’.
He was also on the BOARDS OF BUSINESSES AND ORGANIZATIONS for several years, not even owned by the Mormon Church. He remained a faithful member of the board of directors of Commercial Security Bank, and LED THE BANK’S AUDIT COMMITTEE FOR 20 YEARS. Even when the bank was bought out by Key Bank, Monson was made a member of that Board of Directors.
Let’s put it this way, it ‘wasn’t for no reason’ that he was granted a “HONORARY DOCTOR OF BUSINESS” from the University of Utah in 2007, and presented a “Honorary Doctorate of Laws,” from Brigham Young University in 1981!
The Mormon church nowadays has put itself into the same mold as many denominations (sadly, especially Christian) are in—making their religion a money-making BUSINESS! However, from the start, the Mormons have been highly involved with financial issues and business matters (unlike the true Christian church). Original Mormonism believed in money and religion; Mormonism nowadays believes mostly in money and some in missions to get more money/members/power.
Catching on to the Money-Motive
AN EX-MORMON WRITES: “The historical Jesus was not interested in money, but as the supposed head of the LDS kingdom, he now owns a 5 billion dollar shopping mall and more. So is Joseph Smith’s Jesus the founder of a religion that fuses spirituality with prosperity, power, and sex?”
Good point! PROSPERITY, POWER, AND SEX SEEM TO BE (AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN) THE MAIN THRUST OF THE LDS CHURCH. However, these things historically have nothing to do with spirituality…so along came Joseph Smith with the ‘missing message’: “Prosperity, power, and sex have everything to do with spirituality,” hence the growing Mormon church/ Mormon jesus.
In an article in USA today (Feb. 5, 2014), Dennis Wagner states:
“The leader of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been ordered to appear before a magistrate in England on fraud charges filed by a disaffected ex-Mormon who disputes fundamental teachings of the religion, according to documentation obtained by The Arizona Republic…
Two summonses direct Thomas S. Monson of Utah, the church president, to attend a March 14 hearing in the Westminster Magistrates Court of London to answer accusations that key tenets of the LDS faith are untrue and have been used to secure financial contributions…
The criminal complaint was lodged by Tom Phillips, a Mormon who said he withdrew from the church after holding positions in England as bishop, stake president and area executive secretary…
Phillips’ complaint is based on the Fraud Act of 2006, a British law that prohibits false representations made to secure a profit or to cause someone to lose money. Conviction may carry a prison sentence of up to 10 years…
Phillips listed seven church teachings that he claims are demonstrably false, including the origins of the Book of Mormon and the Book of Abraham, parts of the church’s canon of scripture. “These are not statements of mere ‘beliefs’ or opinions or theories,” he wrote. “They are made as actual facts and their truthfulness can be objectively tested with evidence.”
Phillips, who lives in Portugal, alleged that the LDS church in Great Britain has taken in $257 million in member donations since 2007. He said tithes are mandatory for good standing in the church.”
It is highly doubtful that this lawsuit will result in anything negative happening to Monson because of the religious nature; however, it is very revealing how obvious the money-factor is in the Mormon church.
For more of an idea about Monson, some of his book titles are: Be Your Best Self (ISBN 978-0-87747-787-7) and Live the Good Life (ISBN 978-0-87579-192-0).
Real Faith
AN EX-MORMON STATED: “When arriving at the crossroads of faith, some Mormons want to revert to their Christian roots [of a mere] biblical faith. The [particularly] tough challenge they face is keeping their trust in Jesus while dismantling their faith in Joseph and the LDS apostolic leaders that they now feel have mislead them no matter how well intentioned.”
How true! The big challenge is loving THE RIGHT JESUS. However confusing as it may seem, it still is very simple: just read and believe the Bible—because it has all the answers! If one would consider from the beginning that the foundational claim of Joseph Smith was that ‘the Bible message has been lost,’ how is he coming to this conclusion? What proof has he that the dozens of matching manuscripts—copies straight from the original 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th century Christians, have LOST their original message? That is a ludicrous and un-factual claim. Even if one did not believe the message of the Bible, research still would prove that the message is still there Nonetheless!
A Closer Look:
LET ME REPEAT MYSELF: It is imperative to look at the whole history and character of a person/religion! LDS members/missionaries present a wholesome image, but have a fraudulent history AND government. Be aware, Mormonism is not, and can never be: “the Church of Jesus Christ,” for THEY HAVE REJECTED JESUS CHRIST AS THE MESSIAH; however, they have the adulterous, drunk and convicted, crystal-ball reader Joseph Smith as their messiah.
Thank you, but I will stick to Jesus who is the real and omnipresent Son of God and Messiah! By the way, crystal-ball and forged golden-plate reading ARE NOT improvements on REAL Christianity!
